ABOUT
Showcases
Sound to Vision (SToV) is being used more and more for artistic exhibits and live performances. Here are some examples of SToV being used out in the community
Crux
Crux is an audiovisual performing arts initiative, organising audiovisual events, jam sessions and workshops across the UK and in London.
Crux Festival of Audiovisual Performing Arts was a weekend-long event featuring audio-visual performances, jams and workshops. The diverse programme featured an array of audiovisual performances each day from emerging as well as more established artists. During the day there were talks, participatory workshops and opportunities to get involved with the open-mic-style electronic-music performance slots or Sunday jam session. Atomise and Odlogo used SToV to develop an audiovisual presentation for the AR showcase.
Fortitude
Atomise represents the produce of a dynamic 10-year collaboration between Ryan Honaker and Janek Hendrich. These multi-instrumentalists have joined forces on numerous projects, including bands, live performances, gallery exhibitions, arts compositions, and short films. Their versatile repertoire spans a broad spectrum of styles, from guitar-based songwriting to experimental improvisation. The duo excels in crafting layered soundscapes, which can be dense or delicate, comforting or disquieting. Their sonic palette includes everything from field recordings and synthesized sounds to analog instruments, showcasing their adeptness at creating immersive auditory experiences.
“Fortitude” is an experimental multimedia work by Atomise and other artists consisting of visual elements with an accompanying score and narrated text. The text is a short story that investigates the interplay between mortality and societal control and manipulation by those in power and its ethics.Through a speculative fiction narrative it attempts to intertwine reflections on time and existence that critiques social and surveillance mechanisms of societal control.

Live Performance and Showcase
Atomise created a showcase with the folloiwng theme: As we all watched the world spiral into a global pandemic, our creative and social outlets diminished, and a new reality began to permeate our collective mindset, influencing art and culture in unexpected ways. This influence grew as we adapted to working from home, finding new methods to connect and collaborate. The mounting infections and deaths were devastating, followed by a sense of stunned gratitude at the unprecedented triumph of science with the development of vaccines, only to be crushed again by their tragically inequitable distribution and subsequent rejection by some. Throughout this time, we were profoundly isolated, struggling to connect, process, and find distraction.
